The Volkswagen Microbus, the VW ID buzz was announced in 2017 as a concept. with it now going into production, let’s have a look at how this may well be the most exciting electric car of the decade. for more reasons than you may think.
Firstly let’s look at the design that describes the vehicle that transfers a micro brass feeling into the future. inspiration from the classic and iconic type 2 micro brass. which was launched in the 1950s. the V at launch describes ID buzz as follows. a fun and mobile living space, or a creative hub. it can be almost anything you want it to be.
One of our big ideas in the VW ID buzz is the variable space concept. this innovative interior design opens up new space for you and your family. thanks to the heads-up display, finding even the most remote spot is much easier. enjoy the freedom to discover the great outdoors and sleep under the stars. head to the coast to feel the sand between your toes or simply visit an old stomping ground.
The interior of this new Volkswagen microbus is just as wacky and the modders exterior. there is space to accommodate up to 8 people which benefits from a rail system. meaning enhanced flexibility where this makes it to the production model is yet to be confirmed. but hopefully, this does as this would be a game-changer for the sector.
The seats offer multi-functions. so can serve the world around. folds into tabled and recesses the floor for adding loading space. this is all opossum because the batteries are stored under the floor of the VW ID Buzz, much like every other electric car.
VW minibus is much like the ID3 offers a very minimalist arteria. meaning to isn’t a slew of buttons and knobs littered all over the dashboard. the center stage is for the senior. which was rather oddly shaped, to be honest. the steering wheel when depressed will enable autonomous mode. meaning the studio will hideaway and the driver and the passenger we were to serve around and face the passengers in the area. I bet a house a little house which I don’t own by the way that this will not happen when ID buzz is eventually delivered to customers.
The navigation in the Volkswagen electric bus uses an augmented reality heads-up display. which projects directions straight onto the road in front. this eliminates possible misdirection and miss turns. when there’s something that may well be a distraction in the long run especially with densely populated cities is something that should be interesting. I still have got round headlights the ID bus comes with intelligent LED eyes. that communicate with drivers and pedestrians. for instance, if you’re about to turn a corner the headlights are pointing in the direction you’re heading. if the VW ID buzz notices any pedestrians or cyclists on edges road, you can even look towards them to use satellite signals to let them know you’re there.
Battery and Range
In terms of the battery of performance, there are two different versions. an all-wheel-drive 111-kilowatt-hour batteries output 369 horsepower and a real-world drive only the houses in 83-kilowatt-hour battery and produced to this the 8 horsepower.
VW claims that the whole way you’ll drive variant will be able to notice 0-60 mph in five seconds. or on to a top speed of 99 miles per hour. hardly Tesla beating numbers but I guess that’s not the point.
On the battery pack, the VW IB Buzz range will be about 200 miles to 270 miles.
Volkswagen is saying that the ID Buzz will have a charging rate of 150-kilowatt hours. meaning 0 to 80% charge will take around 30 minutes.
There aren’t any real rivals to idly buzz. the closest Bend Rivian R1S.
So when can you buy this new Volkswagen electric bus? the VW ID Buzz?
Well, it isn’t a release date. but you can expect this vehicle to start delivering to consumers in around 2023 which is yes a million years away.
There is no confirm price. we can use the ID3 as an indication which is priced at around 30,000 euros. with the cheapest micro bus started around 37,000 euros. currently, we can’t expect to see a significant jump in price compared to this. so expect the idea Busby price to anywhere between 50 to 60,000 euros.
